On behalf of IUCAA advocate Kalyani Pathak stated, “You are hereby called upon to publicly apologise my client for your illegal act of infringement of copyright of my client and pay an amount of ₹50, 00,000 towards damages and compensation within seven days of receipt of the present notice, failing which, my client shall be constrained to initiate legal action against you, which may involve criminal complaint(s) for the cost and consequences of which, you would be solely liable." Later, in her will, she passes on the ownership of the copyright of Pu La’s work to IUCAA. The copyright of Deshpande's literature was with his wife Sunita after his death. The notice states that copyright of PL Deshpande’s literature are currently owned by IUCAA. IUCAA sent a notice on August 10 and has claimed ₹50,00,000 as compensation for infringing the copyright and also for not holding back the telecast of further episodes.
